What worry really means
It is natural to experience worry from time to time in life. Worry has both positive and negative effects. Often, there is more discussion about the negative effects. In this context, worry is likened to a funeral pyre. It is true that worry or excess can afflict a person with dread, fear, anxiety, or insomnia, which adversely affects mental and physical health. A worried person may fail to fulfill their duties.It is not appropriate to assume that worry is entirely wrong in life. From a psychological perspective, a person should have an appropriate level of worry in accordance with their circumstances and responsibilities. For instance, if a student has an exam the next day, they should be worried about it. Otherwise, they may not focus on exam preparation, and their exam results could be affected. An appropriate level of worry motivates us towards our goals and keeps us alert, helping us to avoid mistakes.

Therefore, along with being cautious of the adverse effects of anxiety, we should also understand the importance of its positive roles. Generally, the anxiety that occurs has clear causes and is temporary. When the causes are eliminated, the anxiety also ceases. In contrast, sometimes a person exhibits anxiety for which there is no direct cause, and which persists continuously. Such abnormal anxiety can be harmful to a person's mental health, for which appropriate treatment is necessary. Thus, it is essential to view anxiety from a positive perspective, as it makes us responsible and helps maintain balance in our lives.
