Beyond the Awareness of the Body: Exploring the Power of Consciousness

Beyond the Awareness of the Body: Exploring the Power of Consciousness ‎

‎The greatest irony of human life is that he has become so enamored with his body that he considers every joy and sorrow associated with it as the truth of his soul. We have become so fond of our tears that we want to preserve them, as if they are our achievements. Memories of sorrow have become like jewels for us, which we keep touching repeatedly. To be honest, there is a chamber within all of us, where we carefully store our sorrows and dust them off every day, so that they continue to shine and we can convey to ourselves and to others that 'Look, the greatest sorrow in the world has fallen upon us.'

Going beyond the awareness of the body leads to self-realization and spiritual awakening.

‎Indeed, we have become so attached to our bodies that we tend to perceive every pain arising from it as the greatest truth of our lives. Even a simple fever makes us feel that the center of the universe is our suffering. As if the weight of the entire world is resting on our body alone. This self-centered ego of being in pain does not allow us to remember that every living being in the world is going through their own sufferings.

‎This body is the home of diseases; it would be better to start living with this realization. It is clear that as long as we consider it the center of our existence, suffering will remain a permanent guest in our home. The essence of practicing yoga and meditation is also to rise above the body. When a practitioner sits in meditation and forgets the awareness of their body, only then do they experience the joy of liberation. Forgetting the body is the path to transcending all the sorrows and pleasures of the body. Just as a mother forgets her own pain in front of her child's suffering, similarly, by focusing the mind on a higher goal, one can divert attention from the body. Life is not given to showcase a display of sufferings; this should always be remembered.
